Columbia Model Specifications

The following specifications came from a variety of sources. These include PHRF listings, books and articles, and Columbia brochures and advertisements. Almost all the brochures were provided by other owners. Copies of original brochures are cherished. Send me a photocopy and I will create a full specifications page for your model.

Listings with inches expressed as 10ths of a foot are from PHRF listings. Dates listed by the last two digits ('67) are dates the model was reported to be produced, usually by an owner. Dates listed in full (1967) are from a PHRF listing.

Opinions, corrections, and additional specifications are greatly appreciated. I recently received production information through '79. Although it comes almost directly from the East coast Columbia factory, there are obviously some inaccuracies. Columbia was a little loose about record keeping. Suspect or estimated data is in italics.

Please email me for my address (ewhite@columbia-yachts.com).

PHRF NOTES: My mission is to document dimensions, but I have included PHRF numbers for interest. I have seen PHRF rating differences between sites for boats that appear to be the same model. Other than inboard (IB) outboard (OB) notes, I can't account for some differences.

PHRF MEASUREMENTS: My labels are not technically accurate, but you can get a close estimate of sail area using the equations: 100% JIB = IxJ/2 and MAIN = PxE/2.

Which Factory Made Your Boat? Here is a chart that lists the hull number assignments for the Costa Mesa, CA and Portsmouth, VA factories.
